Coaching Staff

Tim Shea, Head Coach

Tim Shea is currently in his 27th year as the head coach of the Salem State College women's basketball program. Shea has guided the Lady Vikings to 23 NCAA Division 3 postseason tournament appearances since taking the program over in 1981. He is listed among the top ten in victories among the active NCAA Division 3 women's basketball coaches.

SSC has dominated the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) during the regular season and postseason tournament, winning a combined 38 championships (22 regular season and 16 postseason titles) and compiled a 318-25 record against MASCAC opponents over the past 26 years. Shea, who has complied an overall record of 596-143 at SSC, was the architect of the 1985-86 "Dream Season" when he directed SSC to the college's first and - to date – only national team championship.

The Lady Vikings posted a 29-1 final record and were ranked No. 1 the entire season. Shea was cited by the New England Women's Basketball Coaches Association (NEWBA) and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) with regional and national Coach of the Year honors for the 1985-86 season.

Shea, who is a native of Salem and a 1972 graduate of Assumption College, also serves as athletic director at the college, a position he assumed in 2000. Shea and his wife Shelia reside in Salem. They have two daughters, Mackenzie and Taylor.

Paul Enfanto, Assistant Coach

Paul Enfanto is currently in his 13th season as a Salem State College women's basketball assistant coach. Paul received a Masters of Education in Counseling degree from Salem State and a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education, Health and Science from Northeastern University.

Paul, a native of Everett, has served as a science teacher, guidance counselor or physical education instructor in the Everett Public School system for the past 29 years. Prior to joining the SSC women's basketball staff as a volunteer coach, Paul served as an assistant girl's coach for four years at Bishop Fenwick High School.

Previous to coaching at BFHS, Paul was the girl's coach for five years at Parlin Junior High School. Paul was a coach in the Northeast Hurricanes AAU program when the team captured the 1993 national championship. He was also involved as a coach with the Bay State Games for seven years.

A resident of North Andover, Paul has also coached extensively in the sport of softball, serving as a coach in the Everett High program for 16 years. Paul served as Everett High's athletic trainer for eight years and girl's varsity assistant basketball coach for ten.

Maggie Weber, Assistant Coach

Maggie Weber is currently in her 3rd season as a Salem State College women's basketball assistant coach. Maggie received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Art History from the College of Holy Cross.

Maggie, a native of Barrington, Illinois, was a two-time Patriot League all-star selection and the Patriot League Rookie of the Year while starring for the College of Holy Cross Crusaders. She helped lead the Crusaders capture a pair of Patriot League championships and qualify for two NCAA Division 1 tournament appearances. Maggie earned most valuable player honors at the 2004 Patriot League postseason tournament.

While attending the College of Holy Cross, Maggie was involved in numerous leadership activities, including being a member of the Purple Key Society and serving on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Board. Maggie also served as co-chair of Purple Pride Day which entailed fostering school spirit and organizing campus events.

Maggie's undergraduate college experience involved her in many volunteer activities. She interacted with emotionally and mentally charged students as a member of the Mercy Center and also coached basketball clinics at the city' s Jewish Community Center.
