Degree Completion Program- Online and On Ground
This part-time program is designed for fire science graduates from the community college system. Our exceptional program meets or exceeds the standards as established by the National Fire Protection Association for Fire Officers I, II, III, and IV, in NFPA Standards 1021.
Salem State's bachelor's degree in Fire Science is the only bachelor's level program offered at a Massachusetts state college.

- Fire Marshal's Office

- Understand and judiciously enforce building codes and ordinances
- Manage other fire-fighting and emergency service personnel
- Educate the public on fire safety practices
- Handle hazardous materials
- Prevent and detect arson
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a firehouse
