Central Campus Residence Hall
The College is in the process of building a new residence hall on its Central Campus that will house 450 students and open in the Fall of 2004. Built overlooking a picturesque salt marsh, the facility will be comprised of seventy-five (75) apartments, each equipped with a living room, full kitchen and two baths. The building will also feature a large lounge space with casual seating, televisions, and game tables, as well as smaller lounges conveniently located throughout the building. Common amenities include a fitness center, laundry facilities, and a mailroom. The Office of Residence Life will also be housed in the building.

In order to create a true living/learning environment, the building will include two (2) faculty apartments to house faculty who choose to commit their time and academic expertise to work programmatically within the facility. Finally, a state-of-the-art "smart seminar room," will be on the first floor with easy access to non-residents.

Phase One
SSC's $15 million Phase One renovation of Central Campus is nearing completion. The 37.5 acre former GTE/Sylvania site will soon be transformed into new facilities for the School of Business, Department of Music, and Information Technology.

Central Campus is already home to SSC's state-of-the-art Public Safety building and the college bookstore, as well as the Enterprise Center, a business incubator for the region.

Phase Two
Phase Two, which is currently the focus of the College's first major capital campaign, will be home to the completed Center for the Creative and Performing Arts and the School of Arts and Sciences environmental laboratories.
