To apply for admission, choose the program you are interested in from the list of programs. The homepage for each program contains all application instructions and materials.
The following admission guidelines apply to most programs:
- Submit the application form as soon as you know you are interested in applying to a program. This allows us to enter you in our database, to send you helpful reminders about the status of your application and to notify you of any impending deadlines or missing materials.
- Register to take any required standardized tests.
- Request that all transcripts from undergraduate and graduate study be sent to the Graduate School at Salem State College. Even if you attended Salem State College, you will need to make this request directly yourself to the Registrar’s office.
- Distribute copies of Reference for Graduate Admission forms to all those from whom you are requesting references. Remember to follow up with your referees so that your application review is not delayed by missing letters of reference.
- Programs will also have additional requirements specific to that program, such as evidence of current license, or three years employment. Check to see whether the program requires additional information, and provide or request it well in advance of any admissions deadline.
Standardized Tests Required for Admission
|
|
All of our Graduate Programs require that you take one or more standardized tests as a part of the application process. Students who already hold a master's degree are exempt from submitting test scores for the MAT, GRE or GMAT. If you already hold a teaching license (initial or professional) in the area in which you will be earning your master's degree, you may be exempt from the MTEL. Please check with the graduate office to confirm all testing requirements.
Please be aware that the testing requirements vary by program. The most effective way to determine which tests are needed for your program is to check your specific application and flow sheet.
