Education Resource Library

The Education Resource Library of Salem State College Library is moving collections, services and offices to the Library at Central Campus by the end of August 2008.

The Education Resource Library (ERL) as a separate entity won’t exist, during the time the Library is at Central Campus.

The following ERL materials WILL be located in the Interim Library:

• 17,000+ main Educ Res items, on the lower level – shelved as a unit.
• SELECT books, big books, leveled readers: in a nook on the main (upper level).
• Current periodicals not online: integrated into the main periodical collection.
• Certain ERL reference books will be integrated with the main reference collection (upper level). Newer test collection items will be integrated with the reference collection.

Margy Andrews, Librarian, will continue as the subject specialist for Education. Faculty who are interested in having Margy conduct instruction on library resources for their classes can email her at: mandrews@salemstate.edu or call her at 978-542-6780. Ms. Andrews’ office will be in the Interim Library.
Rukmal Harvey will continue to assist Margy with ERL collections and resources, and will continue to help patrons in the Reference area (near Circulation and Interlibrary Loan on the main level).

Note: Council on Teaching and Learning books, formerly shelved outside the ERL, will be integrated into the main Education collection.

Items that will go to storage: IDL cabinets and contents; older and less frequently used Educ Res main collection and SELECT books, and reference items.

At the time of this posting, the location of storage and the retrieval system are not known. This information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
