Management Information Systems (MIS)

MIS is the backbone that supports Salem State College's administrative and business operations computing. Major software packages under the aegis of MIS include Encore Telephone Registration, which gives SSC students touch-tone registration capabilities, and PeopleSoft ERP. PeopleSoft encompasses the suite of Student Administration tools used by Admissions, the Registrar's Office, the Bursar's Office, and Financial Aid, as well as a suite of Financial Systems tools overseeing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, budget, and billing.

Future initiatives include activating PeopleSoft's web interface for administration, developing an interface to the U.S. State Department's INS SEVIS system, and implementation of the COGNOS reporting system.

MIS further supports the mission of SSC via student intern and work-study posts.
