Orientation
Welcome to Salem State!
Congratulations on coming to Salem State in the Fall of 2008! Before starting classes, all new students must attend an Orientation. Entering freshman must also attend placement testing, advising and registration. And, there's a Family Orientation that the folks back home should attend! Look for your schedule in the mail – you should attend on your assigned dates.
Freshmen
All entering freshmen must attend placement testing and Orientation before starting classes. These events are held separately, except for out-of-state students. You'll be mailed info on which dates to attend.
Transfers, Readmits, & Internal Transfers
For transfer students, Orientation is the time to review your credit transfer with an advisor in your major and to register for classes. Because every activity is important, you should attend the entire day. Readmits & Internal Transfers attend this Orientation if they've taken classes for credit at SSC and have not attended another college since departing, or if they're an internal SSC transfer
Important! Accepted Students Health Information & Insurance
All accepted students must submit immunization and health information, and waive or accept health insurance, before the semester starts.
NEW! Community Service Day
On Thursday, August 28, students are invited to return to campus for a Community Service Day serving several cities and towns on the North Shore. You'll be able to choose from among different projects to work on locally. Call 978-542-6435 or email Bruce Perry if interested in signing up.
