Located on the scenic North Shore just 18 miles (about 30 minutes) from Boston, Salem State is easily accessible by automobile, bus or commuter rail. Salem draws visitors each year from every corner  of the globe, enjoying one of Massachusetts' highest concentrations of historic sites, museums, cultural activities, and fine dining. Our Open Houses are held each fall. Information sessions about specific departments are offered throughout the year.

Campus Tours

The Admissions Office encourages you to take a student-led tour of our campus. Campus tours leave from the Admissions Office located on North Campus and are by appointment only. To schedule a student-led tour, please complete the tour registration form below. Once your registration is successful, you will receive an e-mail, which includes a parking pass. Please print the parking pass and place on your vehicles dashboard. For the months of July and August, tours will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am and 2:30pm. Again, tours are by appointment only.

Salem State College uses the summer months for new construction and renovations, all with the goal of providing facilities that will maximize student learning. There may be times when access to seeing a residence hall will not be available. Access to touring a residence hall will not be available for the summer of 2008.

If you wish to bring a group of more than 10 students, please contact Admissions at 978-542-6749 so that appropriate accommodation can be made.

Informational Interviews

Interviews are not required, but we always welcome the opportunity to speak with you about entrance requirements, majors, or any concerns you may have. If you wish to schedule an interview, you must bring a copy of your high school transcript and test scores.
