ROTC
The Army ROTC program of instruction is designed to enhance a student's college education by providing unique leadership and management training along with practical experience. Upon graduation, ROTC cadets will commission as Second Lieutenants and serve as officers in the United States Army.
What is ROTC?
Army ROTC is an elective curriculum you take along with your required college classes. It gives you the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay for your college tuition. Because Army ROTC is an elective, you can participate your freshman and sophomore years without any obligation to join the Army. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be commissioned as an Officer in the Army. At that point, you will have a wide range of interest areas you can specialize in called branches.

Stand Out from the Rest
See how interesting college can be when you're a part of Army ROTC. You'll be a college student first and foremost, just like the rest of the student body, but there's a key difference: you'll have even more opportunities to succeed.
These opportunities include Field Training Exercises (FTXs) in the spring and fall where Cadets build their teamwork and leadership skills. Cadets also participate in Physical Training (PT) on a regular basis to keep up their strength and endurance.

Salem State University Scholarships
Scholarships pay full tuition and mandatory fees at Salem State University or room and board up to $5,000/semester. In addition, all contracted cadets received a stipend of $420/month while in school. Scholarships cadets received an additional book stipend of $600/semester. For more information, email Mr Sean P.
