The Center for Creative and Performing Arts presents its annual Creativity Awards and Celebration of the Arts on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 7 pm.
The Creativity Awards, the top arts award at the university, recognizes the outstanding achievement of 10 student artist across the disciplines of art + design, creative writing, dance, music, and theatre. The evening also includes the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award. This year's recipient is The Floor Lords.
The Floor Lords have been moving hip hop culture forward in Boston and beyond since 1981. In addition to performing, the group engages directly with inner city and local youth, using dance as a means to help young people direct their energy in a productive manner and to foster their creativity.
This year's student award recipients are:
Art + Design – Jacob Gray and Miles Smith
Creative Writing – Olivia Heenan and Sara Desrocher
Dance – Aiden Jones and Mackenzie Trainor
Music – Abrianna Madden and Paul O'Brien
Theatre – Alecia DiCicco and Ian Tomarakos
