Every year, January 1st marks the day that scores of resources officially enter the public domain, providing the public with the legal rights to freely use or reference these resources. Join Cathy Fahey, Open Education Resources Librarian at Salem State University, for a celebration of the public domain. Learn about what it means for something to be in the public domain, how something may enter the public domain, how to find public domain resources. We’ll also touch on copyright, fair use, free and open culture and explore some of the incredible creative works available to you – and everyone – for free!
