EAP Webinar: Doomscrolling

Mar 31

Doomscrolling is a phenomenon that has become increasingly more relevant in our digital age. Doomscrolling refers to the act of continuously scrolling through negative news or social media feeds, often leading to feelings of anxiety and distress. It is a behaviour many of us have fallen into, especially during times of crisis or uncertainty. During this session participants will learn the definition of doomscrolling and explore how it manifests in their daily lives. The session will also delve into the psychological and social factors that drive people to engage in this behaviour. The session continues by examining the mental and physical health consequences associated with prolonged exposure to negative content. The session concludes by providing practical strategies and tips to help break the cycle of doomscrolling and promote healthier habits. By the end of the session participants will have a deeper understanding of doomscrolling and be equipped with tools to manage online consumption more mindfully.
