Earth Days 2025: Climate Change and Biodiversity

Apr 07

This is a multiday event from Apr 07, 2025 - Apr 12, 2025.

Salem State's Earth Day's celebration will occur April 7 - 11, 2025

Two events anchor Monday's celebration

Salem State University is holding its Earth Days celebration from April 7-11, 2025 with the theme "Climate Change and Biodiversity."

The activities on Monday April 7 commence with the signature Technical Research Poster Competition and sculpture contest. The research poster contest is the only juried undergraduate research competition at Salem State. Students will begin setting up their posters for judging at 10 am in Ellison Campus Center Veterans Hall. Public viewing and judging will occur from 11 am-12 pm.

Art students in Professor Ken Reker's Form & Design classes and others have been exploring the impact of plastic on our lives and creating sculptural works using found objects, plastic and petroleum-based products and consumer refuse. These sculptures will be displayed from 11 am-12 pm in Veterans Hall.

Cash prizes courtesy of the Tefferteller Foundation will be distributed to the creators of the winning posters and sculptures.

Come support student scholarship and creativity!

More Earth Days events will be held all week. Check out all the events.

All events are free and open to the public so please spread the word widely!
