About

Fourth Dimension Tap Company was established in 2022 to continue expanding the tap community in Boston and provide greater opportunities for tap dancers around the city. We are an advanced professional company seeking to create high-quality performances that can appeal to a wide audience and pull in new patrons to the art form.

Co-founder and Executive Artistic Director Jeffrey Bird, Jr. is a Boston based tap dancer, actor, and historian originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Theatre and History from Butler University and a Masters degree in US History from IUPUI. Jeffrey began dancing in 2004 and trained with Gregg Russell, Ryan Lohoff, Mark Goodman, Cory Finn, and Julie Sizemore. Jeffrey joined the Circle City Tap Company in 2015 and served as the Artistic Director and Pre-Professional Company Director from 2018-2022. He performed and directed several of the company’s shows. Jeffrey is also a member of Tap24.7 out of Phoenix, Arizona . In the fall of 2022, Jeffrey co-founded Fourth Dimension Tap Company in Boston with Isla Niezgoda. Jeffrey believes that a full and rich tap education must include more than just technique, but also music theory and tap history.

Co-Founder and Producing Director Isla Niezgoda grew up dancing in Chicago and Minneapolis where she trained in many styles of dance where her focus became rhythm tap. She joined Keane Sense of Rhythm Youth Tap Ensemble in 2004 and was a founding member of the Keane Sense of Rhythm Young Professional Company. Isla has had the opportunity to study tap dance under Lane Alexander, Jason Samuels Smith, Jason Janas, Dianne “Lady Di” Walker, Sam Weber, and many more. She has performed around the United States as well as abroad and has been teaching both competition and recreational tap dance since 2010 at dance studios in Minnesota, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Her choreography has earned numerous honors.

This event will take place in the Recital Hall, located on the ground floor of the Classroom Building at 71 Loring Avenue. Parking is available directly across the street from 71 Loring Avenue. Concert guests are welcome to park in this lot.
