Mapping and open data are critical to disaster response. Join us on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 for a humanitarian "mapathon" in which we will learn how to use the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) platform to provide mapping and other geospatial services to support emergency response in areas around the world affected by humanitarian crises. No special expertise or equipment required! Bring your laptop or tablet and we will show you how to do the rest. If you don't have a laptop, we will also have access to computers in the Digital Geography Lab.
After the mapathon, we will enjoy pizza and a presentation by Cy Smith, Director of MassGIS, and the Commonwealth's first Geographic Information Officer (GIO).
