The Salem State Community Chorus under the direction of Lynn Shane presents its spring concert "Hope" Is the Thing With Feathers. The music on this concert is all about our avian friends and represents a range of styles. Selections include the madrigal "The Small White Hen" by Antonio Scandello, "Die Mainacht" (The Nightingale) by Johannes Brahms, the classic Lennon/Mc/Cartney ballad "Blackbird", a Cole Porter medley "Let's Fall in Love" and more.
In addition to the May 14 performance, the chorus welcomes guests to its open dress rehearsal on Wednesday, May 13 at 7 pm.
Admission to this concert is free, although a goodwill offering at the door to support the work of the chorus is welcome.
