Job and Internship Fair Prep-Week 2025

The Job and Internship Fair is coming up on March 6, 2025 from 4-6:30 pm in O'Keefe. Career services would like to help you feel prepared to visit the fair and meet the employers who are looking forward to meeting you! 

Tuesday, February 18 from 11 am-3 pm: Resume Review and How to Break the Ice with Employers

• Have your resume reviewed for general advice and suggestions on resume formatting, using active voice, how to make your information concise, and recommended skills to list. We will also share tips on how to engage with employers at the fair, helping you make meaningful connections and great first impressions!
• Each session will be 20 minutes, so please print your updated resume prior to your arrival as we are unable to print for you.
• Sign-ups for guaranteed time-slots of 20 minutes will be posted here soon, please check back!
• Walk-ins will be accepted, but you may not be able to see a reviewer right away.

Wednesday and Thursday, February 19 and 20 from 11 am-3 pm: Career Closet and Headshots

• Looking for a fresh fit for the Job and Internship Fair? Stop by and look through hundreds of career-ready clothing to help you look and feel your best! From full suits to slacks and blouses, we've got you covered! Students can take up to five items from the closet per semester, for FREE! You can also get a headshot for your LinkedIn! 

Friday, February 21 from 11 am-3 pm: Reduce Stress and Prep for Success

• Stop by our office to destress with fidgets. Our staff will be available to answer questions you may have about the fair, in addition to informational resources sharing how to see which employers will be attending the Fair, how to access Canvas resources Career Services has for all things career, as well as tips and tricks to help you feel confident in attending the Job and Internship Fair!

Saturday, February 22: No Event

• While there is no event Saturday, we encourage you to update your resume, check out the attending employers on Handshake, and research the ones you're interested in. Consider what questions you would like to ask employers during the fair! This is a great time for you to not only learn about the employment opportunities, but to also ask about the company culture, hiring process, growth potential, and even asking the employer what they like about their job and how they got their start!

Sunday, February 23: JCPenney Suit-Up event in the Northshore Mall

• Career Services has teamed up with JCPenney in the Northshore Mall to provide Salem State students with a 30% coupon that can be used on Career-Ready Attire to help you feel confident and ready to take on the Job and Internship Fair!
