  2. If you have completed the items above, you will park your car, and go to the O’Keefe Complex. Only students will be asked to come inside, all other family or friends are asked to remain in the car.
  3. You will be directed to a check in table. The person assisting at the check-in table will let you know what other stations you will need to order to complete your check-in.
  4. You will then proceed to the additional stations as needed in order to complete your check-in.
  5. You will proceed towards the exit and collect your clearance materials, which are required to move into your building such as your “Move-In ready ticket”. You will then exit the O’Keefe Complex.
  6. You will return to your car and drive to your residence hall to unload. Once you arrive at your hall, you will unload your car in a temporary space and then move your car immediately to a parking lot. It is expected that at least one member of your party remain with the vehicle until it can be moved. If you are arriving alone, please inform the greeter upon arrival for further instruction.

Immunization/Vaccine Compliance

  • All residential and full-time students need to be in compliance with the traditional immunization and vaccine requirements.

  • New and transfer students must submit their immunizations prior to moving on campus. You can view your immunization status on your health portal. Please address any outstanding immunization requirement highlighted in red prior to move-in. Please review messages and submit your immunization documentation, including the required forms, on your health portal as soon as possible. For more information see: https://www.salemstate.edu/chs/new
  • Failure to be in compliance could delay your ability to move in and non-compliance will result in a registration hold.

Room Adjustments and Room Change Requests for the Fall Semester

Throughout the summer the residence life staff have been working hard to both place new students as well as make adjustments based upon adjustment applications that had been submitted after housing selection process in April. At this time, not all of these requests have been met as there are limited space available. The Residence Life team will now be transitioning to the fall 2023 room change process.

If you are still seeking a room change, please complete the room change application on your housing portal. A member of the residence life staff will reach out as soon as possible to work on your specific room change request. Please note that room changes will be completed as spaces are available and not guaranteed. This year there will not be a Premium Single/Single waitlist and will be based on accommodations as well as if space allows.

Residence life recognizes that there are many things that might impact your decision to remain in housing. If you do decide to cancel your housing for the fall 2023 academic year, please submit your cancellation on the housing portal under applications tab. Please keep in mind the cancellation timetable that can be found on your license agreement as well.

If you have further questions, please contact us at housing@salemstate.edu from your Salem State email. If you need to review your assignment and room information, please visit https://www.salemstate.edu/housingportal. See you soon!
