Naloxone (Narcan) On-Campus Training with Counseling & Health Services

Counseling and Health Services (CHS) is a partner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Community Naloxone Program. As part of this program, we are able to distribute free opioid overdose prevention medication, naloxone (Narcan) to students, staff, and faculty. 



Please join nurse practitioners from CHS for one of our on campus naloxone training sessions this Fall 2024. The training sessions will cover: 

 

  • Opioid overview and why we have partnered with this state program
  • What an opioid overdose is
  • Signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose
  • What increases the risk of opioid overdose
  • Medication use for opioid use disorders
  • What naloxone is and how it works
  • Naloxone kit: components and use
  • Response steps for a suspected overdose
  • How to administer naloxone
  • Distribution of naloxone kits





This event will be held in person and registration is required. The event has a capacity of 30, please request to register for the event.
