President Keenan and the Board of Trustees of Salem State University cordially invites campus community members to the swearing-in of fourth generation Viking, Chief Trish Murphy ’06 on Tuesday, September 24 at 4 pm in the Sophia Gordon Center for the Creative and Performing Arts.
The first female to serve as chief at Salem State University, Chief Murphy returns to campus after earning her bachelor’s degree in communication from Salem State and serving as a campus police officer here from 2008-2013. Prior to assuming this role, Chief Murphy built a career in the Boston University Police Department where she rose in the ranks and gained the expertise she will employ on campus.
A reception will follow the formal ceremony in the atrium of the Sophia. We hope you will join us for this special event!
