Constitution Day

Join the Frederick E. Berry Institute of Politics and the Politics, Policy, and International Relations department for our annual Constitution Day event. This event will discuss the national landscape of gun violence including the Supreme Court’s recent decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, which has overturned more than a dozen gun laws, and the upcoming case United States v. Rahimi, which could establish a gun ban for people subject to domestic abuse restraining orders. The discussion will then turn to how this is playing out in Massachusetts such as with the recently introduced gun safety legislation (HD 4420) sponsored by Representative Michael Day.

Speakers Include:

  • Michael Day, Massachusetts State Representative (31st Middlesex) and Chairperson of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary

  • Rina Schneur, Legislation Lead and Co-Deputy Chapter Lead for Moms Demand Action Massachusetts
