Finance and Facilities
The finance and facilities division oversees the management of the university's assets, finances, fiscal operations and services and is led by Karen P. House, vice president for finance and facilities. She also serves as the university's chief financial officer (CFO).
The following departments report to the division:
Accounting and payroll
Led by Russell Bethoney, assistant vice president and university controller
Unit functions include: general accounting; disbursements (accounts payable and payroll); grants post-award (FISAP and other required reports and compliance matters); deposits, investments and cash accounting; interface with student finance; interface with advancement; financial statements and reports, tax compliance and internal control.
Budget and continuous improvement
Led by Sallyann Lopez, senior director of budget and continuous improvement
Unit functions include: capital and operating budget development - state, local, all-funds; budget execution (monitoring and projections); position management/ control; multi-year financial projections, including debt; supports budget committee; advice /consultation to units; analyses and reports; internal control; communication and financial system training; financial projects, business process and change management; financial reporting and transaction system support; communication and financial system training; system upgrades (testing); special projects and analyses; E-commerce.
Facilities
Led by Luigi Marcone, assistant vice president for facilities and capital planning
Unit functions include: capital planning, maintenance of physical plant (capital assets), facilities maintenance, upkeep and improvement; environmental health and safety, sustainability, energy and decarbonization.
Purchasing and Auxiliary Services
Led by Reynaldo Ramos, assistant vice president for purchasing and auxiliary services
Unit functions include: the purchase and acquisition of supplies and services on behalf of the campus, including RFP and contract development and administration; the university’s procurement card program; insurance coverages for the university and filing insurance claims; auxiliary functions except for residential life including major outsourced functions (dining, vending, bookstore, multi-function printing) and internally provided business services (summer conferences, print, copy center, mail, fleet management, and clippercard).
