16 Seniors Tell Their Salem State Story
May 6, 2016

Graduation season has begun! To honor our Salem State graduates we talked to a handful of seniors to hear about their experiences here at Salem State. Every night, for the 16 nights leading up to the 2016 graduation, we are sharing their stories!

Here’s Jehovanie’s story:

"I was surprised by the freedom that I was given, and how this campus became home.

I am most proud of the fact that I did not allow other people to change me. If anyone changed me, they changed me for the better. I am happy that I didn't give up on one of the most challenging majors, biology. I am proud of the work I have done with urban arts theatre, black brown and proud, and student government association to make this campus a community for students.

Salem State has given me the opportunity to meet amazing people who have so many different passions, people who love to sing, lead, create, etc. Meeting these people has shown me that you don't have to choose between your art and your education. I didn't expect to direct and write plays at Salem State, but I did." - Jehovanie Robert '16
