27th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

"The Courage to Create a Just World"
Dec 15, 2016

January 16-January 23, 2017

Salem State University will continue the tradition of celebrating the life and work of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a one- week celebration in January.  Our schedule of events will begin with the observance of MLK Day on Monday, January 16 and will end on Monday, January 23 with the 27TH Annual Convocation.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “The Courage to Create a Just World.” The MLK Planning Committee identified this as an opportunity to glean from the wisdom and lived experiences of others. We hope Salem State community members and constituents take time this week to consider our role as we engage in the current struggles for social, economic, and political justice.
