Seven Salem State students are showing work in the Boston Printmakers Student Exhibition, September 23 through October 11 at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (621 Huntington Avenue, Boston). An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, September 28 from 2-5 pm.
Miles Smith, Foss Tassey, Samantha Folts, Layne Bushfan, Kure Nemera, and Lucien K. Mahoney were selected for this opportunity sponsored by The Boston Printmakers. The selection team chose 209 prints, videos, printed 3D objects and artist’s books by students representing 18 colleges and universities. For many students, it is their first opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional setting.
It is also a unique opportunity for the public to see the quality and breadth of student work produced in fine art programs throughout New England.
The Boston Printmakers, an international association of printmakers from the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, was founded seventy-five years ago by a group of printmaking students and teachers at Massachusetts College of Art and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts to educate the public about fine art printmaking and provide opportunities to exhibit original prints.
