Here’s a guide to what’s open and closed on campus between fall and spring semester. With the exception of holidays on 12/24 and 12/31, offices are staffed during winter break. However, staff may be working remotely. Use the A-Z Directory to find the best contact for your question.
Student Navigation Center
The SNC is currently supporting students virtually to stop the spread of COVID-19. Contact the Nav Center by phone, email or Zoom.
Virtual support: Mondays, 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Fridays 10 am-4:30 pm
Berry Library and Learning Commons
Starting January 3: Open normal business hours
Gassett Fitness Center
December 23 – January 15: Closed

Dining
Dining halls close December 22 at 2 pm.
Starbucks will re-open on January 3: Monday-Friday 9-2 pm.
Residence Halls
December 22: All residence halls close at 7 pm
(Residents should vacate halls within 24 hours after their final exam.)
January 16: Halls re-open at noon.
Ellison Campus Center and Campus Food Pantry
Ellison Campus Center is closed from December 23 at 5 pm-January 3 at 8:30 am.
Food Pantry Hours
The building will be open from 12-4 pm on the following dates for students to access the food pantry.

- Friday, December 31
Regular campus center hours resume on January 3.

Counseling and Health Resources
- For general counseling or health concerns you can call CHS and leave a voicemail at 978.542.6413. Students can also message CHS providers using the student health portal.
- Students can upload their immunization records on the student health portal under “Medical Clearances” or have their provider fax their documentation to health services at 978.542.7121. These records will be reviewed within 3-5 business days.
- If a student needs mental health support, the mental health support line is available 24/7: 978.542.8327
- If you are concerned about a student or want to help connect a student to resources, please email careandconcern@salemstate.edu.

COVID related concerns (including an exposure or positive test result)
- If you have any COVID related concerns, please report in CoVerified, send health services a message in your student health portal or call the contact tracers at 978.542.3240. Please leave a voicemail if you expect a return phone call. You can expect a response back within one business day.
- If you are a residential student staying in the residential halls during break and have tested positive, please contact the Residence Life staff on call.
