First-Year Writing Awards

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2015-2016 First-Year Writing Competition! These outstanding pieces represent a wonderful array of projects assigned in first-year writing courses. These students will be invited to give a brief reading of the winning piece at one of the First-Year Writing events in the new academic year (details forthcoming in the fall). First-place winners will be awarded a $100 prize and second-place winners a $50 prize.

First Place:
