Four Educators Inducted into Northeast Regional Hall of Fame

Scott Morrison of Lynn, Ellen Rintell of Cambridge, Eliaquin Gonell of Lawrence, and Anthony Pierantozzi of Somerville were inducted into the 2015 Salem State University Northeast Regional Educators Hall of Fame during a recent ceremony at the Hawthorne Hotel.

Morrison, the director of curriculum and instructional technology at the Manchester-Essex regional schools, also received the Northeast Regional Education Award for demonstrating leadership and making significant contributions to the Manchester-Essex schools.

Rintell, a retired professor of education at the university, received the Edna Mauriello Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of her demonstrated leadership and her significant contributions to Salem State.

Gonell, a U.S. history, economics and criminal law teacher at Lawrence High School, received the Rising Star Award for demonstrating early evidence of making significant contributions to the Lawrence schools.

Pierantozzi, the superintendent of schools in Somerville, received the Salem State University Alumni Award as an “exemplar of his alma mater who has demonstrated the best practices of Salem State University.”

Established in 2013 by the School of Education, the mission of the Salem State University Northeast Regional Educators Hall of Fame is to honor and recognize exemplary leaders, past and present, in the field of education for their dedication, contributions and service to their profession.
