The Salem State world languages and cultures department, through its French and certificate in translation programs, is excited to host guest speakers Kate Deimling and Sam Mowry in March. Deimling and Mowry are professional freelance translators who will speak about their work to French students at Salem State.
Kate Deimling is a French-to-English translator specializing in fiction and non-fiction, art and culture, advertising and marketing, and international affairs and development. She also focuses on transcreation (creative adaptation of advertising from one language into another), copywriting, and SEO copywriting.
Sam Mowry is an ATA-certified French into English freelance translator specializing in official documents, international development and medicine.
