Marcos Luna, a Geography and Sustainability professor at Salem State who also serves as the coordinator of the graduate Geo-Information Science program, was invited as a panelist at the Institue of Contemporary Art Watershed in East Boston to speak about the city of Boston's plans to combat climate change.
Luna identified climate change risks that threaten Boston, especially the East Boston neighborhood, which he said the city has not adequately addressed. He discussed how these risks pose unique hazards for low-income families and communities of color.
Photos and a video recording of the event are available on the Zumix radio show website.
