The Center for Civic Engagement and social justice organization Voices Against Injustice is excited to announce an upcoming panel discussion on inequities in the criminal justice system. This is the second event in a speaker series designed to examine the disparate impact of incarceration on communities of color.
Panelists will address the effects of incarceration on families and how civic engagement and advocacy shape their activism. Local activist and community organizer, Shar'Day Taylor, will facilitate the discussion. Panelists include exoneree Sean Ellis, subject of the Netflix docuseries Trial 4 and co-founder of the Exoneree Network; Chad Quintana, former incarceree and creator of Griz Gear; and Brandy Henry, clinical social worker and board member of the Massachusetts Bail Fund.
