Salem State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Nowak PhD as dean of its Bertolon School of Business effective April 1, 2016. Nowak has served as interim dean since July 6, 2015. Prior to joining Salem State, she served as dean of the College of Business Administration at California State University at Stanislaus, where she also held the title of professor of marketing.
Dean Nowak holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Mercer University and a PhD in business administration from Saint Louis University. She has authored or co-authored pieces in over 25 journal publications, including articles in The International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals, The Journal of Management and Market Research, The Journal of Product & Brand Management, The Journal of Nonprofit & Public Sector Marketing, and The International Journal of Wine Business Research.
“LInda Nowak has an impressive track record in developing both public and private partnerships in order to enhance the educational experience and job opportunities for students,” says Provost David Silva. “She has extensive experience and skills as an administrator and is exceptionally suited to lead the Bertolon School into a future of new opportunities and new achievements.”
Nowak, who began her administrative career as chair of the business administration department at Sonoma State University in 2000, noted that, "What I immediately noticed when I arrived on campus was the positive attitude of everyone I met.
