North Campus Dining Changes

Oct 1, 2020

The following message was sent to students on 9/30. The rotating food truck lineup listed below was updated on Monday, Oct. 6 with the latest schedule information:

We are excited to announce that beginning on Monday, October 5, food trucks will be coming to campus! Food trucks will be located in the library quad between Ellison Campus Center and the North Campus Dining Commons, Monday through Friday, 11 am - 2 pm. These additions come as a result of reduced demand and changes to our dining location schedule (see below).

Here is a sneak peek at some of the vendors that will be in our rotating lineup (subject to change):

  • Chicken and Rice Guys: Asian Fusion (every Monday)
  • Boston Burger Company: Burgers (every Tuesday)
  • Rolling Gyros: Mediterranean (every Wednesday)
  • Melt: New American (every Thursday)
  • PennyPackers: BBQ (every Friday)

All vendors will accept meal swipes (for a meal equivalency), clipper cash, dining dollars, cash and credit cards.

Also, for those who wish to purchase snacks, drinks etc., Sodexo will be setting up a mini grocery store twice a week in the North Campus Dining Hall. Items may be purchased using clipper cash, cash and/or credit cards.

We will send full details regarding both of these new offerings as soon as they become available. You may also stay updated on Viking dining on Instagram at vikingdiningssu; on Facebook at Viking Dining at Salem State; and on Twitter @viking_at.

Unfortunately, due to our current de-densified campus environment, there has been significantly reduced demand for traditional food service on North Campus. As a result, the North Campus retail including Dunkin’ Donuts will be closed for at least the remainder of the fall term effective Monday, October 5. Although not as convenient as having Dunkin’ in Meier hall, please know that there is a Dunkin’ next to the O’Keefe parking lot on Canal Street, just a short walk or drive from North Campus.

Rest assured that Central Campus food service remains in full swing, including 24/7 Marsh Dining and Starbucks Café; as well as the breakfast and sandwich cafe on South Campus - all of which are open to all members of the Salem State community.

Thank you for your support as we work to optimize campus dining options during this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,

Carla Panzella, PhD
