Earlier this month, I informed you that Chief of Staff Nate Bryant, EdD, was the finalist for interim president of North Shore Community College (NSCC). Yesterday evening, NSCC’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously in Nate’s favor. This appointment must now be approved by Massachusetts Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Carlos E. Santiago.
If Nate’s appointment is approved by Commissioner Santiago, he will be taking a leave of absence from Salem State to take on the interim presidency, effective July 1. This is bittersweet for our campus community. While Nate would be greatly missed, I’m tremendously proud of what he has accomplished and excited about what he can bring to one of our strongest partners in the region.
In addition to his role as chief of staff, Nate also oversees the areas of enrollment management, marketing and communications, civic engagement, external affairs, and athletics. If the appointment is finalized, I will share information about organizational changes to ensure that Nate’s various responsibilities are covered.
Thank you,
John D. Keenan
President
