Every year the Salem State University Alumni Association presents the Volunteer of the Year Award to an alumnus/a who has made outstanding contributions through dedicated volunteer service. This year's recipient is Patricia "Pat" Libby '71 of Salem, Mass.
Pat has exemplified what it means to be a loyal volunteer and advocate for Salem State. For over a decade she has served on the executive board of the Friends of Education in several roles leading up to the present where she is currently president. She has been an at-large member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and currently is the Vice President for Outreach.
“Pat is an amazing team player who works tenaciously to accomplish the tasks at hand.” Said Joe Wamness, former Alumni Association president and Libby’s nominator. “She is always willing to volunteer her time, talent and treasure in any way needed. She is a pleasure to work alongside and truly values the mission of SSU and cares deeply about making affordable education available for young people on the North Shore. I am proud to call Pat Libby a friend, and I value her commitment to SSU immensely.”
