Dr. Noel Healy, associate professor in the geography department at Salem State University, has been appointed to the editorial board of Energy Research & Social Science. Regarded as one of the leading international journals in the field of energy (impact factor 3.815), the journal is also ranked 6th in Environmental Law and Policy Journals.
Prof. Healy expressed delight at being appointed to the editorial board stating, "the journal fills a real niche within the field of energy studies and I look forward to working with professor Benjamin Sovacool and others over the next three years."
Dr. Healy's most recent paper, "Embodied energy injustices: Unveiling and politicizing the transboundary harms of fossil fuel extractivism and fossil fuel supply chains" was also published in ERSS. His paper is currently the seventh most downloaded article for the journal and holds the second spot for PlumX Media metrics. Professor Healy's research struck a chord with international media. His paper was featured in The Guardian, The Times, DeSmog Blog, The Clare Champion, along with a number of energy websites. Prof. Healy was also interviewed by Colombian national radio (WRadio) about the human rights impacts of Cerrejón coal mine in La Guajira Colombia.
