Salem State University has been honored with a Merit Award in the 40th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, a national competition recognizing excellence in higher education marketing and communications. The university received this recognition in the Integrated Marketing Campaign category for its First-Year Student Application Generation campaign, developed in partnership with Encoura, Salem State’s enrollment and marketing services strategic partner.
This campaign utilized a multi-channel approach—combining personalized email outreach, direct mail, and targeted digital marketing—to effectively engage prospective students and reinforce Salem State’s position as a top-choice university. The Educational Advertising Awards, now in its 40th year, is the largest and most respected educational advertising competition in the country. This year’s competition received more than 2,000 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities, and secondary schools across the United States and internationally. Entries were evaluated by a panel of industry experts for creativity, message effectiveness, and overall impact.
This recognition highlights the impact and innovation of Salem State’s marketing and communications team, in collaboration with Enrollment Management and Encoura, in elevating the university’s brand and engaging prospective students through a strategic, multi-faceted approach.
