Salem State Log Students Join Hundreds of Student Journalists in New York

Mar 24, 2016

Spring Break came late for five editors and reporters from the Salem State Log.

Instead of heading off to see family and friends, they joined almost 1,000 other student journalists and faculty advisors at the College Media Association’s annual New York conference. Along with Professor Jane Regan, the Log's advisor, they attended workshops for two days and visited media outlets like Hearst, Bloomberg and 60 Minutes.

“We all attended workshops and seminars that extended our knowledge on skills we already had, while learning new concepts which triggered so many new ideas for both personal and professional benefit,” editor-in-chief Leneai Stuart said. “We made connections with other media students and some of the professionals that attended.”

Keep an eye on the Log’s revamped website - http://www.salemstatelog.org - to see those ideas in action!
