Salem State School of Social Work Professor Elspeth Slayter was recently interviewed by “The Provincetown Independent” newspaper about the challenges of disability accessibility on the Outer Cape. She addressed the problems disabled people have with the spotty implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Slayter will be working with the Provincetown Disability Committee to do a townwide census of accessibility in business establishments. Professor Slayter guides students through a similar activity in her disability social work elective offered each summer. Read the article in which Professor Slayter is interviewed.
