Salem State Study on Attitudes Toward Seals Published in Marine Policy

An article based on a landmark study on attitudes towards seals conducted Salem State researchers have been published in Marine Policy, the leading journal of ocean policy studies. The article, "Conflict and consensus in stakeholder views of seal management on Nantucket Island, MA, USA," was co-authored by Jennifer Jackman (political science), Michele Sweeney (health care studies) and KC Bloom (sms) along with Jerry Vaske of the Warner School of Natural Resources at University of Colorado-Fort Collins and Lauren Bettencourt and Allen Rutberg of the Center for Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University. The study was funded in part by grants from the Salem State School of Graduate Studies/University Research Advisory Committee. The abstract and article are available online.
