Salem State University will screen the award-winning film “Green Book” on April 17 and will host its screenplay writer, Lynn native Brian Hayes Currie, as a guest speaker on April 18.
The film won three Academy awards, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor and received three Golden Globe awards, including Best Motion Picture and Best Screenplay.
The screening will take place in the Ryan Lecture Hall, located in room 426 in Meier Hall, on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:30 pm and will be followed by a discussion. On Thursday, April 18 from 2:30-4 pm, screenplay writer and Lynn native Brian Hayes Currie will take part in a discussion in the Ryan Lecture Hall (Meier Hall room 426). A reception will follow.
Currie, a St. John’s Preparatory graduate, co-wrote the “Green Book” script with Nick Vallelonga and Peter Farrelly. He will discuss the writing and production process of the film and answer questions about working in Hollywood. The session will be facilitated by English professor Nancy Schultz.
