Salem State University today announced that it has hired Marlin Nabors to serve in the role of associate dean of students for engagement. Nabors will lead development of an engagement cluster that includes resident life, student activities and involvement, diversity and multicultural affairs, and community standards, and acts as the liaison to the student government association.
Nabors brings 15 years of experience in higher education, most recently holding the position of associate dean of students at Southern New Hampshire University. Prior to that, Nabors was the director of the office of community standards at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
“Mr. Nabors’ wealth of experience and accomplishments in higher education make him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Carla Panzella, PhD, assistant vice president and dean of students, student life at Salem State University. “We look forward to working with Mr. Nabors to continue advancing the university’s mission and working to ensure that all of our students thrive.”
Nabors received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, where he studied journalism and sociology. He went on to receive his master’s degree in cultural foundations of education from Syracuse university. He resides in Manchester, New Hampshire.
