I chose Salem State University due to its proximity to home and the affordability of tuition. I was also drawn in by SSU's welcoming, diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. I knew that intelligent, experienced individuals would surround me. I think a prospective student should be prepared to engage in rich conversation that will change how you views the world around you. I am ending my undergraduate career as a more rounded, introspective individual.
What have you enjoyed most about your experience living on campus?
Living on campus, I have enjoyed easy accessibility to different amenities, such as the dining hall, library, and gym. I can invite my friends over to my dorm to study, eat, and just hang out. My roommates have become my closest friends, and their support has carried me through late-night study sessions and important life events.

On campus, I am involved in athletics (women's tennis), intramural sports, the front desk of the admissions office, and the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).

My professors have shown great interest in my academic and personal success. My current Honors Thesis advisor, Sarah Libby, has been my professor for two courses and now guides me through the most extensive research projects of my undergraduate career. She is also a practicing mental health counselor with a specific interest in childhood and adolescent developmental psychology. She inspires me to continue down the path to becoming a licensed school adjustment counselor.
Salem State emphasizes hands-on learning experiences. Can you share any memorable experiences where you’ve applied classroom knowledge in real-world settings through projects?
