SSU Biology Students Present at 2023 North Shore Sigma Xi Conference

Sigma Xi is an international research society supporting outstanding endeavors in all areas of science and engineering. Salem State University is a member of the North Shore Chapter of Sigma Xi and Biology faculty member Ted Maney serves as chapter Vice President and professor Dr. Jason Brown serves as At-Large Officer.

Biology major Pamela Rosales gave a presentation of her research mentored by Dr. Shiv Pillai at the Ragon Institute titled “Characterizing B cells recognizing IL-1RA and Galectin-3 in the Autoimmune Disease, IgG4-RD.” Biology major Kamila De Andrade presented a poster about her research mentored by Dr. Laura Laranjo at Salem State University titled “Quasi-Palindrome Mutation Frequency in E. coli treated with FDA-approved drugs.” Congratulations Pamela and Kamila!
