Earth Day Events Highlight Hopeful Solutions
Thank you to all who participated in the SSU Earth Days events. We reached over 1,400 people with lectures, films and activities, many of which focused on positive solutions to environmental problems. Still to come is "Salem Kicks Gas: A North Shore Electric Vehicle Expo" on Sunday, April 28 from 1-4 pm at Salem High School at 77 Wilson Street. Check out electric vehicles and bikes in person! Honors In Art with Marisa Orlando – Fluorescence of Adolescence

Each year students are given the opportunity to present a solo exhibition in The Winfisky Gallery as part of their Honors in Art capstone project. Senior Marisa Orlando's 3D exhibition "Fluorescence of Adolescence" will be on display in the gallery.

Sun safety and skin cancer prevention with Dana Farber Cancer
Institute I 10 am-2 pm
Join Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Blum Family Resource Van, to learn how to protect your skin from excessive sun exposure and damage and reduce your risks for skin cancer. Students and employees can get a free digital photo to show damage to the skin, a free skin cancer screening, sunscreen samples, and more!
Pre-registration is recommended, walk-in appointments will be available on a very limited basis.
Healthcare Studies Spring 2024 Pre-Professional Day
Pre-Professional Day is returning to an in-person format this semester and will take place in the Ellison Campus Center! Healthcare studies students will present posters showcasing their internship experiences. Some students will also have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with a variety of non-clinical healthcare professionals while others will participate in an Alumni Panel.
Lavender Graduation Ceremony 2024 I 3-5 pm
Lavender Graduation is an annual ceremony held by many universities and colleges to honor and celebrate the achievements of graduating LGBTQ+ students. COIL FLC (Collaborative Online International Learning) End of the Year
Gathering 3-5 pm
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is a key component to our mission. It prepares students of diverse backgrounds and interests to contribute to a global society as ethical and engaged community members. COIL course units encourage international and intercultural interaction and provide opportunities for students to practice these skills regardless of their financial ability and availability to travel abroad.
The University Band presents its end of semester concert under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski. The program includes familiar favorites like the "Washington Post March" by John Philp Sousa, a "Phantom of the Opera" medley, and an arrangement of Charlie Daniels's "The Devil Goes Down to Georgia". The ensemble will also perform Gustav Holst's "Second Suite in F for Military Band."

Finals Survival Kits I 10 am–4 pm
Students will have the opportunity to make free takeaway bags with items to help them get through finals week, like pens, pencils, sticky notes, hand sanitizer, tissue packs, candy, and stickers. Items will be available while supplies last.
Civic Engagement Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 5-7 pm
Join us in celebrating Elisa Castillo, Shane Beckmann, Brad Austin, Camila Diaz, and Marquis Victor in being inducted into our 2024 Civic Engagement Hall of Fame, as well as all our wonderful nominees who have shown sustained commitment to civic engagement within our community at a reception and ceremony.
Intramural Basketball All-Star Game I 7-8 pm
The best of the best from our intramural basketball league will be hand-selected to participate in an all-star game! Come watch our players show off their skills in a fun environment to close out the intramural season.

The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (CHGS) is celebrating ten years at Salem State University. A Documentary Viewing of: “Israelism” I 5-7:15 pm
Shown on campuses around the United States since its recent release, Israelism follows two young American Jews raised to unconditionally love Israel. When they witness the brutal way Israel treats Palestinians, their lives take sharp left turns. They join a movement of young American Jews battling the old guard to redefine Judaism’s relationship with Israel, revealing a deepening generational divide over modern Jewish identity.

The Salem Dance Ensemble presents its spring concert with works by faculty and students. The concert will also include a performance by the Hip Hop Ensemble and a new work by spring guest choreographer Matthew Cumbie titled, "a volume of pages".
