ALANA Graduation Ceremony 2024 I 4-6 pm
The 30th annual ALANA Graduation which celebrates the academic achievements of students of color. The Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 4 pm in the Ellison Campus Center, Vets Hall.
Yom HaShoah I 7-8:30 pm
The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Salem State University invites the public to attend its annual Yom HaShoah remembrance ceremony. Yom HaShoah is held in honor and remembrance of victims and survivors of the Holocaust. This year’s program will feature a memorial service, traditional songs performed by the Salem State Community Chorus, and a talk by Holocaust survivor, Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff.
Tuesday, May 7
Phi Kappa Phi Initiation Ceremony I 6-7 pm
Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, most selective, and most prestigious all-discipline honor society. To date, around 1800 individuals have been initiated into the Salem State University chapter. Individuals eligible for initiation will receive invitations to join Phi Kappa Phi as well as additional details related to the ceremony itself once they have joined the organization.
Wednesday, May 8
2024 Creativity Awards I 7 pm
The Center for Creative and Performing Arts will host its annual Creativity Awards at the Sophia Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts. A total of ten students across the departments of Art + Design, creative writing, dance, music and theatre will be recognized for outstanding artistic achievement. The event will also honor Paul Daigneault, founder and Artistic Director of Speakeasy Stage, with the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award.
2024 Veterans Stole Ceremony I 5:30-8 pm
We hope you’ll join us on Thursday, May 9, in recognition of our graduating veteran seniors. Graduating veterans are presented with a commemorative stole to be worn during commencement ceremonies. This event is proudly hosted in partnership with the office of veterans affairs and the alumni association
