Student Success and the First Year Experience is hiring Mentors and Peer Leaders for 2024-2025

Student Success and the First Year Experience is looking for motivated students who want to serve as First Year Mentors or Exploratory Peer Leaders for the 2024-2025 academic year (paid positions).

Do you know a student who would make a fantastic role model for other students and is looking for employment?  Encourage them to apply for one of the positions or send their information to firstyear@salemstate.edu and staff will reach out to them with more information.

• First Year Mentors are undergraduate student leaders who serve as a resource for first year students in the Office of Student Success and First Year Experience, supporting students’ transition through the first year of college, coordinating programs and events, presenting workshops, and sharing their knowledge with students individually and in group settings.
  
   
• Exploratory Program Peer Leaders help support students who have decided not to choose a major (undeclared) as they begin their academic journey OR have changed to undeclared once they are students. Peer Leaders coordinate events, assist students in reviewing class options, and provide individual support as needed.

Applications are due by Friday March 1 at noon!  Students are encouraged to submit their application early and not wait until the last minute.
