The Center for Research and Creative Activities is pleased to offer two opportunities for advancing the scholarly agendas of our faculty and librarians:
Intensive Faculty and Librarian Writing Retreat
Do you have a writing, research, teaching, or administrative project that you want to get off the ground? Maybe you have an article manuscript that you need to finalize before sending it off, a new class to plan, or a report or proposal you need to polish? Several times a year, the Center for Research and Creative Activities and the Mary G. Walsh Writing Center offer intensive Faculty and Librarian Writing Retreat: three full days of uninterrupted time so that you can focus on academic or creative writing and research projects. This event is perfect for those who need a short-term, writing intensive space and time. You will be free to spend your time privately working, informally chatting with colleagues about writing over provided meals and snacks, or receiving feedback on your writing from an experienced writing center consultant.
Previous retreat dates:
June 3-5, 2019
August 7-9, 2019
Please check the Academic Affairs Newsletter or Polaris for new dates and information for the 2019-2020 opportunities.
Grant-Writing Institutes
Do you have a project for which you would like to find funding? In our grant-writing institutes, you will learn the differences between private and government grants, research potential funding sources, receive editorial support and feedback on content, and familiarize yourself with the elements of the grant-writing cycle.
We offer these several times a year. Please check the Academic Affairs Newsletter or Polaris for new dates and details for the 2019-2020 opportunities.
