Presidents Office Staff

Adria started working at Salem State University in July 2003 in the Marketing and Communications office. She later moved to the president's office in 2012 and is currently serving as the Senior Director of External Relations. In her current role, she works closely with government officials, state agencies, and individuals and groups both on and off-campus, to facilitate collaboration between the university and the larger community.

Before joining the university community, Adria worked in advertising and marketing for two years. She holds a MEd in Elementary Education from Salem State and a BA in psychology from Bates College. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for the Boston North Cancer Association, North Shore Community Development Coalition, and Salem Chamber of Commerce.

Maria Machado, Senior Executive Assistant to the President, Maria joined Salem State University in December of 2002. In Maria's current role, she is responsible for managing the president’s calendar. Before joining the President’s office, Maria was the assistant to the Vice President of Student Success, Nate Bryant.  Maria earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Salem State in 2010.

Lynne Montague is a Suffolk University graduate and long-time Salem resident with over 13 years of government experience. Prior to joining the university, she served as deputy legislative director for the Patrick Administration, chief of staff to State Representative John Keenan, and executive secretary to the city of Salem Mayor.
