Upcoming General Elections: Tuesday, November 5, 2024
One of the most important steps of voting is taking time to learn what's on your ballot and decide who you will be voting for. These are leaders who will represent you so it is important that you vote for someone who matches your values.
General Elections 2024
The general election is when voters determine which candidates will be elected for the offices up for election. This election is important because voters will vote on the final candidates from each political party for President of the United States, as well as other offices including Vice President, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Governor's Council, State Senators, State Representatives, Register of Deeds, Clerk of Courts, County Commissioners, and Register of Probate.
In Massachusetts, you will receive the ballot of the party you are registered with and then vote for your top candidate. If you registered as "No Party," then you pick which ballot you vote on, out of the 3 recognized political parties: Democrat, Republican, and Libertarian. You can always update your voter registration as well.
